The Beacon


The newly refurbished Beacon in Whitehaven offers an interactive experience for all the family.  Absorb yourself in the amazing views through the powerful telescopes in the Viewing Gallery, present your very own weather forecast in the Weather Zone and explore the lighthouse style buildings to discover local history through the ages using interactive touchscreens.
Enjoy the panoramic views of the Georgian town and harbour from the fourth floor gallery and visit the Art gallery with its full programme of exhibitions and events.

Cars of the Stars Motor Museum
 

The Cars of the Stars Motor Museum in Keswick contains a collection of cars used in films and television.  Film examples include Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the Batmobiles, Herbie the Love Bug and Raiders of the Lost Ark.  There is a large collection of cars from the James Bond films.  TV cars include Mr Bean's famous mini and the Lotus from the Prisoner.
Each vehicle is displayed within the context of its film setting.

The Cumberland Pencil Museum


Located in Keswick in the heart of the Lake District.
Enter the museum through a replica of the Seathwaite Mine, where graphite was first discovered, journey through the history of pencil making, marvel at the world's longest pencil and finally relax in the coffee shop.

The Dock Museum

Lakeland Motor Museum


Located within the grounds of Holker Hall the museum has over 150 cars, motorcycles, tractors and cycles plus other rare motoring automobilia.
There is the Campbell Legend Bluebird Exhibition featuring the exploits of Sir Malcolm Campbell and his son Donald Campbell who captured 21 world speed records for Great Britain
